“Healthy cookware” has arrived!

Hi Folks!

I’m happy to announce that my “healthy ceramic cookware” recommended by Dr. Mercola has arrived.  It’s bigger than my “cheap, leaching toxin” stuff.  For example, the frying pans are 3 inches tall instead of 2 inches.  No excuse for me to spill the spaghetti  sauce on the stove now!  Of course being bigger means it’s also heavier, which may not be a problem for most people — but for someone recovering (please note my positive statement :) ) from fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue and TMJ,  just a few pounds is heavy to me.  It took me 2 days to unpack the box because of the bending over & cutting through all the tape to open the individually boxed, very well protected pots & pans out of a huge box.  When it arrived my roommate brought it in and said “Your small pony has arrived!”  I order a lot of my things over the internet, so he never knows what to expect LOL!

He refused to part with his favorite teflon pan.  However, I’m sure he will soon learn to love the new pan better than the old one because when he uses it he won’t have to listen to me lecture about the toxic fumes (or give him “that look”!).  I was able to throw away 2 teflon frying pans and a teflon crock pot — 3 to 1, I won!

I’m actually looking forward to experiencing the difference in how a non-toxic, professional pot or pan cooks food compared to what I’m used to.  Maybe it will make cooking a little more fun?  To be brutally honest, 98% of the time I would rather have a professional chef come into my home & use my new cookware for me — and I will — at some point.  For now, when I do cook, I can feel good about the fact that I’m not adding any more chemicals or heavy metals to my food than what may already be there.

Speaking of food, in the near future, I will be eating at least 95% organic stuff.  I don’t do the grocery shopping at this time so I don’t have 100% control YET, but I will — eventually.  I’m told that the organic foods are more expensive but I demand that at least 70% is organic.  As my income grows, so will the percentage of organic food that I eat! The only non-organic food will be occasional treats and restaurant food — which of course with a personal chef, I won’t have to go out to eat very often :) .

Farewell for now — Be Healthy, Happy, & Prosperous!

    Karla,
Personal chefs are absolutely the way to go:)!
Thanks for the info on the cookware. I’m anxious to hear how it works for you. I too have gotten rid of the teflon. Just couldn’t imagine it was good for us when I realized it was coming off the pans in some spots and we were probably ingesting it! Yikes.

      Thanks Christy,

I had heard for years that cooking with teflon was bad for you but had to see Dr. Mercola’s chart of how much of each toxin and heavy metal was going into my food before I did anything about it. When I have time to cook again, I will let you know how I like the new cook ware LOL!

      Many Blessings,

I guess we never take time for health until we lose it. Then we spend all our time on it. Glad to hear of your new acquisition. Of course, another healthy alternative is to limit cooking as much as possible, or lightly steaming foods instead of trying or boiling. I think any information you can relate on this topic will be welcomed by your readers. Thanks.

      Hi David,
You’re absolutely right, raw fruits & vegetables are better — if you’re able to chew them. Sometimes people with TMJ can’t chew raw foods and if they have Chronic Fatigue on top of it they may not have the strength to puree them. I always have to cut any raw fruit or vegetable into thin pieces to eat them and sometimes that’s still not enough.
You’re also right about people who’ve lost their health. You do have a choice of giving up or finding a way to get better. Over the last 30 some years, I’ve gone back & forth. As you have noticed, I’m in “I want to get better NOW” mode :)
